Summary:
I have been working with this well-known local company of around 10 employees since 2012. When I started it was clear that this dynamic and ambitious young businessman, Mr Luke Johnson, had done extremely well to lay the foundations of a potentially successful company and that all of his staff were working very hard. The financial turnover ran into several 100 thousand pounds, but the profits were very small. Essential procedures were missing and a focus on increasing profitability was badly needed.
Results:
Within 2 years the owner has grown considerably – personally and in business – a new showroom was acquired and turnover and profits increased significantly. Some essential procedures were established and a focus on the profitability of the company was encouraged in addition to providing exemplary customer service. There has been a steady expansion and an increased number of employees and vehicles. This financial year our plan is to increase the profitability of the company by a further 210%.
The Future:
As with any company, the best way to grow is to see what is being done well and what is profitable. There are three prongs to the further development of this company: first to consolidate and grow the existing business; second to expand into related businesses; and third to begin new initiatives in perhaps unrelated industries. The future of Luke Johnson Flooring – soon to be “Luke Johnson Flooring & Beds” – is very bright indeed!
